Twenty-five years painting Cincinnati without taking over your house

Most of what makes a repaint stressful has nothing to do with paint. It is not knowing which day the crew turns up, finding your furniture somewhere you did not leave it, or getting a number that moves once the work has started.

We have been painting Cincinnati homes since 2001, and the way we run a job is built around you still living in it. Crews work room by room instead of opening up the whole house, floors are papered and furniture wrapped before a lid comes off, and everything goes back and gets swept every evening rather than on the last day.

You get one crew lead from the first walkthrough to the punch list, an itemized estimate that separates prep from product from labor, and a phone call before any extra work happens — never an invoice that explains it afterwards. Twenty-five years in, that is the part that decides whether you call us again.

Professional painting services in Cincinnati, OH

For all kinds of residential and commercial properties

Looking for a painter usually means something specific is already happening — a house going on the market, or an exterior that has been on the list three summers running.

We cover the whole range: interior and exterior painting, cabinets, wallpaper and popcorn removal, drywall repair, brick, decks and fences, garage floors, pressure washing, and commercial work scheduled around your trading hours rather than ours.

Alongside is one wall of one house — olive-stained siding taken to charcoal. Drag the handle to move between them.

Bulldog 5 step process

A premium finish does not happen by accident. It is the result of standards you can count on. The Bulldog Finish is our five-step standard for how every project runs and how the whole job should feel to live with — built to protect your home, keep the stress down, and leave a finish that is worth what you paid for it.

Before we ever open a paint can we confirm the scope, the surfaces, the colors, the sheen levels, the timeline, and what you are expecting. This is the step that prevents surprises. You should never be unsure what is included, what is excluded, or what the next steps look like — it is all itemized on the estimate before anyone starts.

What we hold to

Our mission & values

Prep it properly, paint it once, stand behind it for five years. Everything below is a practice, not a promise — you can check us against all six.

Prep Before Paint

On most jobs we spend more days preparing than painting. It is the least glamorous part of the schedule and the only one that decides whether the finish lasts.

Written, Never Verbal

Prep, primer, product, coats, and labor itemized on paper before you commit. No handshake numbers, and no change order without a conversation first.

The Same Crew Throughout

A named lead on site from day one to walkthrough, backed by painters on our payroll. You are not meeting a new subcontractor on Wednesday.

We Say When Not to Hire Us

If the wall is still wet, if a lighter-prep job is the smarter spend, or if replacement beats painting, we tell you and lose the work. That is the whole point.

Your House Back Each Evening

Floors swept, tools out, furniture returned when a room is finished. Not a single push to tidy up on the last afternoon.

We Come Back

Five years on our workmanship. If something we did fails, we return and fix it — no invoice and no argument about whose fault it was.

Who you are hiring

Cincinnati painters since 2001

A family-owned crew out of Cincinnati, covering both sides of the river and seven counties around it. 3,200+ homes painted, and 11 painters on our payroll rather than picked up for the week.

We are not the cheapest quote you will get, and we will say so when the cheapest one is right — a rental between tenants, or a house listing in sixty days. What we are good at is work that has to last: Ohio Valley freeze-thaw, plaster in century-old houses, kitchens touched every day.

The Bulldog 5-Year Warranty

Most painters warranty the paint. The manufacturer already does that. We warranty our workmanship — peeling, blistering, or flaking traced to our prep or application gets fixed at our cost, for five years from the day we finish.

Jennifer Bennett

My name is Jennifer, and we've lived in our home for 23 years. Our most recent project was repainting my son's childhood bedroom before his wife came to stay with us while studying for her exams. We wanted to turn the room into a comfortable little sanctuary for her, and it felt like the perfect time to refresh the space.

When we first moved in, I spent the first five years painting the house myself every weekend. After our third child was born, we decided it was time to let the professionals handle it, and we've never looked back. Bulldog Painters are efficient, professional, and incredibly responsive. They come out quickly, provide an estimate, and are usually able to complete the project within a week. What I appreciate most is that they always follow up afterward to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. They're loyal to us, and we're loyal to them.

What homeowners say

The walkthrough at the end was the part that impressed me. They handed me a flashlight and told me to be fussy. Found four small things, all fixed the same afternoon, and only then did they ask for payment.
CConsuelo F.Exterior Painting
They talked me through which parts genuinely needed doing now and which could wait another two or three years. Ended up spending less than I'd budgeted because they were straight with me about it.
AAmadeus O.Exterior Painting
They power-washed, let it dry a full day, then came back. The crew that did our neighbors' place last year washed and painted the same afternoon and it's already flaking. Small difference, big result.
DDamaris O.Exterior Painting
This house looked nothing like what you see today. It was a three-bedroom split when we first moved in. We raised the roof, split out the back, and reconfigured the first floor quite a bit. I would recommend Bulldog Painters because they made it a

Everything they promised at the estimate is what happened on site. Start date held, crew unchanged, price unchanged, cleaned up daily, came back for the touch-ups without being chased.
GGuinevere L.Exterior Painting
They inherited a half-finished job from a painter who walked off mid-project. Rather than just carrying on over the top, they assessed what had been done badly, sanded it back and started properly. Cost more than I'd hoped and was completely the

FAQ

Before you call

What do I get at the estimate?

A written, itemized number and no obligation attached to it. We walk the job, measure, and leave you with a written, itemized number. If you want a second opinion on someone else's quote, we will give you an honest read on it.

Are you licensed and insured?

Licensed, fully insured for general liability and workers' compensation, and EPA Lead-Safe certified for work on pre-1978 homes. Certificates go to you or your property manager on request before we start.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. Every painter on your job is a W-2 employee on our payroll, background-checked and uniformed. The crew lead who runs your project is the person who comes back if anything needs attention under the warranty.

What does the warranty cover?

Five years on workmanship — peeling, blistering, or flaking traced to our prep or application. You get the terms at the final walkthrough. Product defects are covered separately by the manufacturer and we will handle that claim for you.

How do payments work?

A deposit to schedule, and the balance on completion after you have walked the job and signed off. We do not ask for the full amount up front, and there are no change orders without a conversation first.

How far in advance should we book?

Interior work usually schedules within two to three weeks. Exterior work in peak season — May through September — runs four to six weeks out, so book earlier than feels necessary if you want a specific window.

Materials

Paint brands we use

The brand is chosen per surface, not per job. A ceiling, a cabinet door and a south- facing wall want three different products, and the one that suits all three does not exist.

Sherwin-Williams

A deep range with a commercial counter behind it, so the specific line a surface calls for is usually in stock rather than on order. That availability is most of why it turns up on the majority of our jobs.

Benjamin Moore

Advance is a waterborne alkyd — it flows out and levels the way an oil enamel does, then cures hard, without the ambering that turns old oil trim yellow. That is what puts it on cabinets, doors and trim.

No obligation

Get a written estimate, not a guess

We walk the job, measure it, and leave you with an itemized number. No obligation and no follow-up pressure.
